Running a marathon is a lot like a production deployment. The training runs and test environments never fully prepare you for the real thing.
Training runs ≠ race day.
Test env ≠ prod.
The stakes are higher, the pressure’s real, and there’s always that one unexpected surprise.
Everything is going great… until the 10th mile hits you like a critical bug in prod.Sudden back pain. Severe. Game over? No Go Perhaps...
You look at your options with more than 50% of the distance remaining:Throw away the race and exit at the Half Marathon Finish Line or..
Problem-solving mode kicks in ..
Throw the race or Throw the belt.
Guess what went flying?
Just like in production: when it breaks, you get to the basics..
Anything non-critical? See ya.
The goal is the finish line, be it deployment or a marathon

Spoiler: I made it to the finish line. No belt. Lots of sweat and emotions. some tough choices. 100% worth it.
Lesson learned:
Whether it’s a marathon or a deployment, success is often less about what you carry and more about what you’re willing to let go of to keep moving forward.
